One possible solution would be to have the current devel version of kepler
use .kepler/2.0/ instead of .kepler/

I do like the idea of being able to pass in the .kepler directory as a command
line argument.  Java can take properties as a command line argument, so if
the .kepler directory was a property such as kepler.keplerDirectory, then
we could invoke java with something like 
-Dkepler.keplerDirectory=/users/me/.kepler-myversion
