Assistant Research Technologist

The International Institute for Sustainability Informatics Lab seeks an
Assistant Research Technologist for deployment, functioning, and
maintenance of production applications including web application code,
web and grid services, and data connectivity tools. Required
qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in computer science or
environmental science (e.g., Geography, Biology, Geology) and two years
demonstrated experience developing software for scientific, GIS, or
statistical data applications. Demonstrated experience using Java, JSP,
XML, XSL, MS Windows, and Linux (Unix-type) operating systems and
Internet protocols. Demonstrated skills in both verbal and written
communication. Desired qualifications include a Master's degree in
computer science or any science with an ecological relevance (e.g.,
Biology, Geology, Geography, Anthropology, Planning).  Experience with
spatial and SQL data management systems such as ArcSDE, ArcIMS, PostGIS,
MapServer, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL. Software development
experience with JavaScript, SQL, PHP, Python.  Demonstrated knowledge of
metadata and ontology standards such as FGDC, Ecological Metadata
Language, Earth Sciences Metadata Language, OWL and RDF.  For additional
