Subject: request for site review posters

At the site review we will have an evening poster session during the
social hour. We would like a series of posters that illustrate the
breadth and impact of work done by SEEK. We've decided we would like
two kinds of posters. 1) a poster from each of the SEEK subgroups that
overviews the activities of the subgroup (e.g., an EcoGrid and a Taxon
poster), and 2) any additional posters on seek material that students,
postdocs, and other SEEK contributors wish to make (e.g., a SCIA poster
or a Collections-oriented workflows poster, etc). Work described in
these posters should be somehow part of the SEEK mission and directly
related to and/or funded by to the SEEK project.

We would like all posters to follow a common formatting style (template
provided below). We plan to review all posters at the May project
meeting, so please bring a draft with you to the meeting. Details
follow:

1) The poster template is working now with updated logos and can be
found here:
http://cvs.ecoinformatics.org/cvs/cvsweb.cgi/~checkout~/seek/docs/site-r
eview-2006/SEEKlayout.ppt
Don't worry that several logos don't display on screen -- they print
fine in our large format but are eps files so they don't show up on
screen.

2) Poster instructions can be downloaded here:
http://cvs.ecoinformatics.org/cvs/cvsweb.cgi/~checkout~/seek/docs/site-r
eview-2006/poster-design-guidelines.pdf?content-type=application/pdf

3) Please check your posters into CVS in seek/docs/site-review-2006
using the naming format "poster-subgroup.ppt".

4) Please bring printed posters to the SEEK project meeting in May --
there will be a session to review them.

5) People responsible for the 7 subgroup posters are:
  EcoGrid: Rajasekar/Jones
     BEAM: Pennington
       KR: Schildhauer
      SMS: Ludaescher
    Taxon: Beach
   Kepler: Jones
      EOT: Katz

Cheers,
Matt
