[kepler-dev] question about logging and monitoring

Hi Norbert,
thanks for the feedback. Currently we use the
ptolemy.actor.lib.io.LineWriter to log some things to a file.
There is a certain overhead to doing that though (one day's log data for
one model is currently about 1Gb). Log4j should enable us to define a
number of 'test points' in the model though and then selectively turn them
on and off. I guess my main question is whether anyone else has had the
same issue in the past and if they have any experience in solving it. If
not then I would be interested to maybe discuss some of the other options
and understand some of the associated pros and cons.

HSBC Bank plc may be solicited in the course of its placement efforts for a
new issue, by investment clients of the firm for whom the Bank as a firm
already provides other services. It may equally decide to allocate to its
own proprietary book or with an associate of HSBC Group. This represents a
potential conflict of interest. HSBC Bank plc has internal arrangements
designed to ensure that the firm would give unbiased and full advice to the
corporate finance client about the valuation and pricing of the offering as
well as internal systems, controls and procedures to identify and manage
conflicts of interest.
