Kepler is an open-source scientific workflow system that allows
scientists to design, implement, execute, and share scientific workflows
for analysis and modeling tasks (http://kepler-project.org/).
We are pleased to announce the release of Kepler RC1 (kepler-1.0.0rc1),
which serves as a pre-release test package for Kepler 1.0.0 and is now
available for download from the Kepler web site:
http://kepler-project.org/Wiki.jsp?page=Downloads
This release has all of the features we plan to include in the 1.0.0
release, and is made available so that we can find any last problems
before the final release of 1.0.0. We plan to release Kepler 1.0.0 in
March 2008. Please report your successes and problems with this release
to the Kepler Users' mailing list (kepler-users at ecoinformatics.org) so
that we can prepare an excellent 1.0.0 release of Kepler.
Much of the work for this release has been conducted by the SEEK, SDM,
and Ptolemy projects and by many other contributors (see the
Documentation page). Continued work on improving Kepler for use and
extension by the science community will be conducted by the Kepler Core
project (see [1]). Kepler is an open project and we welcome
participation and contributions.
Regards,
Matt Jones
