gatekeeping mechanism where by we use a "blessed" version of Ptolemy that is
very close to the trunk, but not necessarily on the trunk. This will shield us
from small compilation errors in Ptolemy. Every night, a process will run that
will update the "blessed" version of Ptolemy to the trunk if compilation occurs
correctly and certain tests are met.
