Bertram,
We've been using bugzilla for 3 years, and have generally found that the
'public' interface has not been a problem at all. In fact, I think it
is extremely useful to have a public list of your bugs and issues -- it
certainly promotes collaboration among projects and institutions. That
said, I have enabled "private" bugs for SDM in Bugzilla for you.
Bugzilla has a "groups" feature that can be used to limit the visibility
of bugs to groups of users. I have created an SDM group in Bugzilla for
you to use. So now, when someone creates or edits a bug in Bugzilla, a
new checkbox will be seen on the form that says:
Only users in the selected groups can view this bug:
(Unchecking all boxes makes this a public bug.)
|_| Users who can edit all bugs
|_| SDM Users
If you check the "SDM Users" box, then only people in that group will be
able to view or edit that bug.
For this to work, I'll need a list of the bugzilla accounts that should
be a part of that group. Right now, your account is the only member. I
have also granted you the permission to add other people to the group.
As new SDM people create bugzilla accounts for themselves, they'll need
to be added to the SDM group in order to see any private bugs.
Does this solve the problems for you?
