[seek-taxon] Seek Conference Call Tuesday

Hi all:

   Sorry I couldn't make it today (should've gone up to campus...). Here 
are my updates with respect to the San Diego items:

- Delivered comments on ConceptMapper to Xianhua.

- Received Bats from the Mammals 2006 volume both as a Word doc and 
Excel file through Jim's effort. The new files have 2700 entries - too 
much for me to do within a reasonable amount of time. However, I can 
select a larger family like the Phyllostomidae with about 400 entries 
and create the relationships to the 1993 concepts. Minor issue: UCSB's 
1993 book is in the reference colleciton and can't be taken out. 
However, a couple of days in the Library should do the trick. Haven't 
done that yet (see below) but could do it soon.

- Question: Can and should we wait until we have both the 1993 and the 
2006 data represent in TCS-XML and then imported into the ConceptMapper? 
What's the best sequence now that we have all relevant data thanks to 
Jim the and MSW folks?

- Have not yet delivered the analysis of needed Morpho 
functionalities/changes to support concept resolution.

- Continuin to work on the concept relationships ms.

- ITEM: I'm in the middle of a promising job application for a junior 
faculty position in insect systematics in Puerto Rico. I've had my phone 
interview and am now invitited to visit the campus and present a seminar 
there from December 4-7. I hope you understand that preparing for this 
visit is taking up a fair amount of my time.
