[seek-dev] envLayer metadata

	Chad,

I'm not sure what actor you are talking about.
Anyhow, a dxl file represents a number of layers (grids in
native GARP format). Each layer has its own scale value, which is used
to scale the range of layer values to 1-254 range. In the dxl file there
is a <EnvLayerSet> element with a set of <EnvLayer> elements. Each layer
has its own scale value (property ValueCoef). Property CellSize is just
the size of each cell in the grid (all are the same).
Also, the dxl files are the only type of data GARP can handle
directly.

Ricardo

PS. Attached is another dxl file just for reference.

Subject: [seek-dev] envLayer metadata

Hi Ricardo,

When we were building the garp pipeline last week, we built an actor to
pull metadata from the envLayerSet. Is the only thing we extract from
that the scale value? if so, does that value correspond to the CellSize
attribute of the <EnvLayerSet> element in the dxl file? if not, where
is the scale value recorded? Are dxl files the only type of EnvLayer
data that garp can use?

thanks,
chad
