The problem was related to jdk version. After I upgraded it to 1.4.2
it seemed to execute installation tasks.
To my dismay, I installed Globus Toolkit 3.0.2 on Redhat 7.3. It
installed fine with that. I will try installing it on Redhat 9.0 after
I am a little comfortable with the toolkit.
