Hi, Rod. Please follow the instruction in part "Setup default CA" (c)to 
cofigure your DN. (I think you OU probably be "nhm.ku.edu" rather than 
"nceas.ucsb.edu".

After your configured it, then run "grid-cert-request" command as user 
"rod".
