allow second registry user account to modify an entry

Greetings EML developers!

I'm not sure if this is the right group to ask this, but I couldn't find
the relevant information on ecoinformatics.org.
I'm working with Sedgwick NRS to get their datasets into the registry
(some, at least), which has been a slow process. I finally decided I'd
give the records from their annual reports a try. Those contain minimal
information, but this is enough to satisfy the required fields at
http://knb.ecoinformatics.org/knb/style/skins/nrs/index.html
or for that matter at
http://knb.ecoinformatics.org/cgi-bin/register-dataset.cgi?cfg=knb

I figured minimal information is better than nothing, but once I enter a
record this way, I want to let the "owner" know an have them fill in some
of the blanks.

What do I do to enable permission for another registry user to edit "my"
records?

For a test, entered a record (ID: nrs.643.2). Then I created a second
username/passwd for myself, but on trying to modify an entry this way I get
the dreaded
NullPointerException with hints of authentication failure.

Thanks, and keep up the good work.

Rudolf Nottrott

P.S. Searching the registry has been very slow.
