eml-spatialRaster

Matts answer is correct. There are about 1500 projection definitions in
the EML spatial referenc dictionary that were loaded from the
definitions shipped with ArcGIS 8.1. their names correspond to the names
that you see when you browse these in ArcTools. If your projection is
not among these then you will need to create a custom projection
description and provide all the component parts - datum, spheroid, and
(if a projected system ) projection description. Bear in mind I don't
think anyone has written any software tools to deal with custom
information - most of us look for a named projection that can be
associated with a named projection in whatever software system we are
using.

or define a new coordinate system by filling in the information in

As I said, I do not know this stuff well. Others on eml-dev may be able

to give more concrete advice and corrections, so I am cc'ing the list to

see what we get back.
