Summary: Separating measurements and units into separate
                    attributes
           Product: EML
           Version: 2.0.1
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: eml - general bugs
        AssignedTo: jones at nceas.ucsb.edu
        ReportedBy: tyburczy at nceas.ucsb.edu
         QAContact: eml-dev at ecoinformatics.org

Many datasets seem to have columns in which the units are not consistent (eg.
mixing hectares and acres, or parts per thousand and parts per million). There
should be some way to have the units for each entry defined in a second column
so that the actual numerical value and the measurement unit reside is separate
columns. Currently there seems to be no syntax for EML to handle this situation.
