Dear Mary,

This Saturday, 1-3PM, at Karpeles Museum [a hidden downtown SB jewel], the
Planning Association will host an Awards reception for people active in
planning, policy, and resource management issues in SB County. See BELOW.

Please invite any residents, fellows, staff who are interested to join us
for the fun. It should be an inspiring, upbeat, compact program about good
stuff happening, on the ground, in very complex issues, in the real world.

Many well established, well managed area non-profits are always in need of
project members, volunteers, even board members, for activities in the
south coast area.

If any NCEAS people have time/interest to get more locally involved in
public policy, conservation and resource management, design and long-range
planning, great opportunities are available.

Please come if you can, but either way, have a great week,

lee moldaver, ALE

p.s. I know this kind of wonky, raucous revel could tax the health of
even the strongest county resident. but if you guys are up to it, it would
be great to have you.
