[Ecolunch] NCEAS Ecolunch is now the NCEAS Roundtable!

Dear All,

Thanks for your attendance at the spring NCEAS Ecolunch seminar series, and
thanks to Josephine and Katie for organizing the talks.

Although the Ecolunch series has served NCEAS well over the years, the
current residents have decided it's time to shake things up and try
something new. So, starting next week we will be replacing the NCEAS
Ecolunch series with a weekly meeting called the NCEAS Roundtable which
will be different in at least two ways:

1) Different format. Some of the NCEAS Roundtable events will include
informal presentations by invited guests, similar to Ecolunch in the
past, but the schedule will also have a mix of interactive discussion
groups lead by NCEAS residents. For example, next week Dr. Benoit
Parmentier will be leading a group discussion on methods for interpolating
climate data.

2) Different timing. Some weeks our discussions will take place over a
brown bag lunch 12:15 - 1:15 on Weds (not Thurs!), and other weeks we will
have our discussions on Fridays 4-5 pm. We will try to send out
advertisements for these events two weeks in advance. Everyone inside and
outside of NCEAS is welcome to attend all Roundtable events.

We have set up a Google calendar called "NCEAS events" that will be
populated with scheduled NCEAS Roundtable events as the information becomes
available:
