Ongoing Ecology Communication: Nature, Journalism, and the Web
Of all the digital communication technologies invented, some are more important than others. But perhaps no communication technologies will be more important than the ones used by ecologists and journalists to communicate to citizens what the state of our changing planet is. Some tech tools continue to make their way into practice--things like data visualization tools, knowledge management tools, content management systems, and information interfaces like blogs. Others remain to be invented. And the big picture with all this big science is somewhat bleak. It's hard to imagine what to design and build that puts the technology to best use when there's so much stuff to pull together. But things have to start somewhere, and I'll throw out my best ideas. And I'll welcome your feedback.
