Details? Are you missing root access? Error messages?

No, you can install Kepler as often as you want to. But, AFAIK, you'll
only be able to run a single instance of Kepler at a time (it uses a
single HSQLDB instance to store data while running kepler).

>From my past experience, gcj wasn't properly working with GUI-related
stuff. That's the reason why should install Sun's JRE (this is a very
easy under Ubuntu).
