[kepler-users] Kepler SRB question

Hi Nithya,

I see most of your questions were answered by now - Thanks all!

The actors were removed from the latest release due to last minute port naming convention changes. But they exist in our current CVS version and will appear in the coming up release (mid July).

Currently Kepler supports SRB Version 3.2. The current Kepler architecture limits us to using packages as specified by the classpath and thus prevents us from using multiple versions of the same classes. Future plans (KSW: http://kepler-project.org/Wiki.jsp?page=KSWEncapsulationSpecification) would hopefully be able to provide solutions to versioning issues.

Please let me know if you have any other questions/problems.
Best regards,
Efrat

Hi Tim,

The demo workflows are very helpful. I was able to run a few examples successfully. Thanks for pointing me to it.

thank you,
Nithya

Hi Nithya,

I would recommend you to start with the SRB demo workflows in the
/worflows/srb folder. This would give you an idea of how the SRB
actors work. Some input port requires an array of strings instead of
a single string.

I also built a SRB Flash Demo, which might help you.

Cheers,
Tim

I still have trouble figuring how to give a path name to Sproxy list command ( a string constant gives a type mismatch). But I can wait till Tuesday. thanks for your help.

When I tried to use SRB actors, I am not able to find the Sproxy and SRBProxyCommand actors described in SRB Kepler user manual. Could you please tell me where I can find them?
