The fix for <a href="https://chess.eecs.berkeley.edu/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=61">https://chess.eecs.berkeley.edu/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=61</a> was to
not remove the trailing underscores. However, trailing digits are removed. Why
this is done? It's not required to generate a unique name.
