Fixed in Kepler 2.3 and in the Kepler devel trunk

bash-3.2$ java -version
java version "1.6.0_22"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.10.6) (rhel-1.25.1.10.6.el5_8-x86_64)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.0-b11, mixed mode)
bash-3.2$ which java
/usr/java/java-1.6.0-openjdk.x86_64/bin/java

Works!
