I know this was debated/changed at least once in the past, but I can't remember
many of the details...at one point Aaron change the default to 1, but I think
did so in a way that affected existing models. 
If we could change SDF's iterations default to 1 without affecting existing
models, we'd simply the common use case and remove an extremely common
stumbling block for new users.
