[kepler-dev] Regarding provenance for Kepler

Hi Bina,

What operating system (including version) are you using? If windows, are you running in an account with administrative rights?
What version of Java are you using?

I've just reinstalled Kepler 2.0 on Mac OS X 10.6.6 (java 1.6), and then using Tools=>Module Manager, installed and relaunched into Provenance 2.1 without problem -- the P provenance button and the Tagging dropdown menu show up in the toolbar.

One guess is your installation is somehow corrupt. You might try reinstalling by running the kepler uninstaller, delete your ~/.kepler and ~/KeplerData (located in C:\Documents and Setings\username\ on Windows) directories (note the KeplerData directory may contain your saved workflows, so DO NOT delete it without first making a backup), and then running the 2.0 installer again.

Kindly let me know what the problem could be.

I was reading in the manual about having ant and SVN as well, is this necessary to code for a custom activity? Would you happen to know of some documentation that will help me better with this?

Your email doesn't provide enough details to figure out what is wrong. Are you using version 2.1? And what version of provenance are you using? If you install the workflow run manager suite you should be able to see the provenance history of each run from the Run Manager if provenance is working.

I have tried to get the provenance working in Kepler reading the documentation that I attaching herewith, but after clicking on the apply and restart button no change occurs and the provenance does not activate. Kindly let me know what can be done.
