This used to work - but it's been literally years since I've seen the code and
we may even have a newer HSQLDB version running.
>From what I remember, you need to use the HSQLDB "server" mode by launching
that in a separate process during Kepler startup- then any Kepler process can
connect to the "server". The last Kepler process to quit will terminate the
HSQLDB process.
