If you remove the fix to bug#3593 (re-enable commented out section in
addAttribute in ActorMetadata), you don't get the error for the test case in
comment 2, but you lose any configured value, and the portparam arrow changes
from white to black, and loses the dot. I need to brush up on how
PortParameters are supposed to work to understand what the solution should be
here...
