Sean,

Your list looks great to me, and is the main thrust of Aaron's work
with saving, loading, and searching KAR files.  I think your list is a
good synopsis of what he needs to finish by 2.0 to be sure saving is
supported fully in 2.0.  Aaron might have some other things to add to
the list.
