Hi Ken,
I wanted to follow up on your build problems with ant and Eclipse. The
Kepler Eclipse instructions used to indicate that you need to exclude
kepler/ptII/build from the Eclipse build in Kepler if you have run the
'ant' build of ptolemy. Derik and I discussed it and agreed there is no
harm in excluding that dir all the time in Eclipse, so people who
happen to do the ant build in the same working directory as the Eclipse
build will not run into the problems that you did. So, we have modified
the .classpath.default file to exclude the ptII/build/ directory all the
time in the Eclipse kepler build. Hopefully this will eliminate some
headaches for people that are starting with the build. We have updated
the Eclipse instructions on the web to reflect these changes.
Thanks for your persistence and for helping us to understand some of the
issues you have encountered while starting up with Kepler development.
We will be doing a lot more work in the near future on improving the
build and development process, so your feedback has been valuable.
Regards,
Matt
