Hi all,
Just added a usability directory to Kepler. The path is:
kepler/docs/dev/usability
In it I'll place reports from Kepler usability testing and user discussions
along with notes on usability issues both from my review and discussion with
other team members, as well as design mock ups and ideas.
If you'd like to know how the December 2004 BEAM group responded to Kepler,
what issues were identified and the recommendations for improvement, please
see:

Subject: [kepler-dev] kepler alpha4 installers
Hi All,
If you check the kepler web site (www.kepler-project.org), you
should now find the download links now connect to kepler-1.0.0alpha4
versions of the installer. This version corresponds to the alpha4 tagged
version in CVS (which was the head of CVS right before the holidays).
Try it out and please let me know if you have any problems.
Note that the installers are quite large (~120MB, compressed). The
size increase (relative to the previous installers) is due to the
inclusion of ALL PTII documentation (The ptolemy-docs.jar file is 54MB)
and GARP data files. The primary motivation for this alpha release was
to provide an installer for the SEEK ENM/GARP workshop held in
Albuquerque just before Christmas. Note that the emphasis was on the
Windows version which should install all the dlls needed for the jni
system-specific code used in the Niche Model workflows. These workflows
will not automatically work on the Mac and Linux versions. (JNI code for
Linux is available; Mac code is not currently available for GARP.)
