Hi -

I think this is of interest to both the pipeline and semantics/kr areas.
The DAML-S ontologies (http://www.daml.org/services/) are used to describe
the semantics of web services.  A useful overview is
http://www.daml.org/services/daml-s/0.9/daml-s.pdf.  Notice that the
"Service Grounding" portion of DAML-S is designed to take advantage of the
work already done on WSDL (see section 6 of the overview paper).

The Web Services Composer is a tool from the UofMaryland (Jim Hendler's lab)
which allows services to be linked semi-automatically with semantic
mediation into a workflow.
