If you have not seen this presentation by Mark Butler from HP, you would

It is a good introduction to ideas of SW with dose of critics. However
it is not critics of semantic web per se, it is realy  critics of rdfs.
There are extracts from various documents so it is not really a personal
opinion of his.

I personaly not agree with him when he talk in the end about semantics.
But if his statements are limited to rdfs semantics only, then perhaps
he is right- it is more "symbolic" then "semantic".
