Why is the Morpho Installer so Big?

Hi All,

Someone recently asked why the Morpho installer is so big (>10
MBytes) even when the java jre is not included. That is a good question.

The installed 'morpho_1_4_0' directory is over 12 MB in size. The
'morpho_1_4_0/docs' subdirectory is over 2.5 MB while the
'morphohelp.jar' and 'jhall.jar' directories total to nearly 3 MB. We
this have a total of roughly 5.5 MBytes of documentation! The xalan and
xerces jar files total to almost 2 MBytes, so clearly only a fraction of
the installed size is due to actual morpho code. The morpho.jar file is
980KBytes in size and that is where most of the class files reside.

Note that in Morpho 1.4.0,. the 'morpho-config.jar' file is 1.1MBytes in
size. It turns out that most of that is due to a mistake in the build
that copied some non-essential code (the SchemaParset and extra copies
of xalan and xerces). A new build file has been put into CVS which
reduces this jar to about 100KB.
