Hi,

We had a productive conference call yesterday and made some decisions
about the release schedule and goals for Kepler. I have documented
these decisions on the roadmap:

   http://kepler-project.org/Wiki.jsp?page=KeplerReleaseRoadmap

The brief summary is that 1) we will cut an alpha8 release at the end of
this week, and 2) we have introduced a new alpha9 release scheduled for
Feb 28, 2006. This is a hard deadline and will not slip; features that
can not be completed by that deadline will not be included in the 1.0.0
release that will be branched off of the alpha9. We decided it should
be a hard deadline so that we can ship the 1.0.0 release in May, which
is beneficial for several projects.

I have reorganzied the bug lists for each of the releases. Please
review them and remember to update and close bugs that you own as
appropriate (it appears to me there are several completed bugs that have
not been closed).

Matt
