Our email crossed.  Sticking with Java 1.4.2 for the Mac sounds
reasonable.

    Ilkay,
        I have used java 1.5 with Kepler and all seems to work OK with the 
    exception of your documentation code.
    
        I thought we discussed this at the Santa Barbara meeting and decided 
    that we didn't want to use any code that required java 1.5; i.e anything 
    that would make it incompatible with 1.4.2.
        [The default java version for the Mac is 1.4.2; 1.5 is available for 
    the Mac, but only for the newest version of OSX.] So I think we want to 
    avoid any thing that would make Kepler unusable with 1.4.2, at least for 
    awhile.
