[eml-dev] Basis of the record in EML

Antonio,

I am glad to hear that EU BON is interested in EML.

ILTER is a partner with GEO-Bon. I would like to coordinate with you so
that we can take maximum advantage of synergies.

In particular, we will serve as the sites database for GEO-Bon.
You can look at our site: http://data.lter-europe.net/deims

Are you working with Ricardo Diaz?

There is not a specific tag in EML for basisOfRecord, however, EML can be
extended with custom metadata tags. There are places where this information
could be placed, for example, as a methodStep like:

<methods xmlns="">
        <methodStep>
            <description>
                <section>
                    <title>Basis Of Record</title>
                    <para>HumanObservation</para>
                </section>
            </description>
        </methodStep>
    </methods>

but it might be better to create a custom metadata tag that would mirror
the DarwinCore structure. Something like:

<additionalMetadata>
<describes>Method Of Observation</describes>
 <metadata>
  <methodOfObservation>
   HumanObservation
  </methodOfObservation >
 </metadata>
</additionalMetadata>
