+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #2076 +++
volume, pageRange should be 0 or 1, to accomodate in_press
papers.  <pubDate> is already optional. My stylesheet used the absence of a
pubDate to filter out the in-press pubs. Citations may spend only a short time
in this state, but it's very important to scientists to make their newest
papers
available quickly. 
journal should still be required, since this is known for an article in-press.
Before acceptance, the paper could be called a manuscript
