Question on ciustomUnit

The Arctic LTER site  has units expressed as g/0.04m2

Tissue mass data are expressed in g/quadrat (400 cm2). Multiply by 25 to get g/m2.

This does not match any of the standard eml units. What would your 
recommendation be as far as expressing it. The two approaches I can see are:

<unit>
    <customUnit>g/0.04m2</customUnit>
</unit>

OR  in a format similar to the other eml units like:

<unit>
    <customUnit>gramsPerFourHundredCentimetersSquared</customUnit>
</unit>
