project, procedure, etc.

Peter,

I looked at the latest versions of eml.xsd, eml-protocol.xsd,
eml-method.xsd, and eml-project.xsd on the CVS website in the default
branch. Some of these are only a couple hours old, authored by you, so
I assume they represent current thinking.

In eml-protocol.xsd, revision 1.39, methodStep is still defined. Is it
just waiting to be deleted?

In the same, paragraph is still defined. Is it just waiting to be
replaced with TextType?

In eml-method.xsd, revision 1.3, qualityControl and Sampling resolve to
a paragraph. Just waiting for the switch to Text?

In the same, procedureStep is defined, but I don't see anything
recursive about it. I don't particularly care if procedure step is
recursive, but it was my understanding that it would be, so I'm
suspicious.

In eml-project.xsd, revision 1.52, abstract and designDescription still
resolve to paragraph. Just waiting to be replaced with Text?

I know you have a lot on your plate today; sorry for sweating the
details.

One big picture item that I will continue to voice: Protocol and
Methods still need a TextType alternative to unbounded procedureSteps
(as a vehicle for capturing highly-structured but not
linearly-structured procedures). Even though a procedureStep can
contain TextType, it would be working against the spirit of the standard
to try to wedge a complete method into a single step. I'm not sure I
can get ssh working in time to fix this myself, so I'm hoping I can
convince you that this is important.

looking forward to the call tomorrow,

Tim.
