distribution element issues

Matt,

    I looked over your comments on the problem. What I had envisioned 
was not a list of parameters (name/value pairs) as an alternative to a 
URL but rather an example connection string (.e.g. an example of a 
specific database connection/JDBC string). Some substitution parameters 
like <username> and <password> might need to be included. I was 
thinbking that the URL is sufficient for most cases, but we would simply 
provide for the possibility an example in case a URL didn't work in some 
cases.
