Hello everyone

I have received responses from about half the sites regarding an EML
workshop here at ASU in June. We can have facilities and hotel space at the
twin palms (at the bargain basement price of $59) for a workshop from the
19-21 june. There are a couple that may have a hard time with the dates, but
we need to move forward as time is getting tight. The workshop will focus on
getting site metadata moved to the EML 2.0 which should be a stable release
candidate by then. Participants should identify in advance what they want to
work on at the workshop with an eye toward one of two short term goals 1)
installing a Xanthoria servlet to return EML from their native relational
database, 2) uploading EML documents that have been converted from text
using data junction or other tools into a local or NETwork office instance
of Metacat, or 3) (not reccomended except for the most strong-willed) a
custom application to convert the sites existing metadata into online EML.
There will be help for the first two options and, if there is interest,
opportunity for break out group sessions to help the custom developers.

The tentative agenda is arrive the evening of the 18th and depart after noon
on the 21st.

if your name doesnt appear on the list or if you want to change your
response, please let me know asap whether youwill come so i can give the
hotel a final head count.
