While we are also part of the LTER network, not all of the staff that work
in informatics are in LTER.

Subject: [ecoinfo] EML 2.0.0 released

The EML Project is happy to announce the release of Ecological Metadata
Language (EML) version 2.0.0. EML is a structured, modular language for
documenting ecologically relevant data. You can download EML at:

   http://knb.ecoinformatics.org/software/eml/

This release was made possible through the efforts of many contributors.
In particular, individuals from the Knowledge Network for
Biocomplexity (KNB) project, the National Center for Ecological Analysis
and Synthesis (NCEAS), the Long-term Ecological Research network (LTER),
the Partnership for Interdisciplinary Studies of Coastal Ocenas (PISCO),
and the Joseph W. Jones Ecological Research Center made substantive
contributions to the work.

At this point EML has been fully tested during the development of 9 beta
versions and 3 release candidates, so we expect it to be stable. There
are no known bugs in this release, and we have no plans to change EML
beyond fixing serious bugs that may be reported. Please report any bugs
and feature requests in the EML Bug database
(http://bugzilla.ecoinformatics.org), or by sending email to
eml-dev at ecoinformatics.org.

The release notes are attached.
